Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you serve for IECC code compliance testing?
Keystone Enclosure Testing LLC serves residential new-construction projects across New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
What testing services do you provide?
We provide blower door testing, duct leakage testing, test reports, and certification paperwork for residential IECC energy code compliance.
Do you perform NEMA, IP, or industrial product enclosure testing?
No. Keystone Enclosure Testing LLC specializes strictly in residential building enclosure testing for IECC energy code compliance. We do not operate an environmental chamber, and we do not perform IEC 60529, NEMA, package, electrical enclosure, or industrial product testing.
Who do you typically work with?
We work directly with builders, HVAC contractors, developers, general contractors, and construction professionals who need third-party testing documentation to close out permits and obtain a Certificate of Occupancy.
Are you an independent third-party testing company?
Yes. Keystone Enclosure Testing LLC is a testing-only company. We do not perform HVAC installation, air sealing, duct sealing, insulation, repairs, or construction work.
How do I schedule a blower door or duct leakage test?
You can schedule testing through our online booking page or by calling us at (877) 517-0004.
When should I schedule testing?
Testing should usually be scheduled when the home is substantially complete, exterior doors and windows are installed, penetrations are sealed, and the HVAC system is ready for duct leakage testing if required. For best results, schedule before the final inspection deadline so there is time to address any issues if a project does not pass.
What should be ready before a blower door test?
The building envelope should be complete enough to test. Exterior doors and windows should be installed, major penetrations should be sealed, and access should be available to the areas being tested. Interior doors can typically remain open during the test.
What should be ready before a duct leakage test?
The duct system should be installed and accessible. Registers, grilles, air handler access, and system information should be available. If the system is not complete or cannot be accessed, the test may need to be rescheduled.
How long does testing usually take?
Most residential testing appointments take about one to two hours, depending on the size of the project, number of systems, site conditions, and whether both blower door and duct leakage testing are being performed.
What happens if the project passes?
We provide the required testing documentation so the builder, contractor, or project team can submit it for permit closeout, final inspection, or Certificate of Occupancy requirements.
What happens if the project fails?
If a project does not pass, we provide the test results so the responsible contractor or builder can identify the issue. Keystone Enclosure Testing LLC does not perform repairs, air sealing, duct sealing, HVAC work, or insulation work.
Do you handle the certification paperwork?
Yes. We provide the test report and certification paperwork needed for IECC energy code compliance documentation.
Do you test single-family homes, townhomes, and multifamily projects?
Yes. We test single-family homes, townhomes, and qualifying residential new-construction projects. For larger multifamily or multi-unit projects, contact us with the project details so we can confirm the testing scope.
Do all homes need both blower door and duct leakage testing?
Requirements can vary based on the project, jurisdiction, code cycle, duct location, and permit requirements. We can review the testing request and help identify whether blower door testing, duct leakage testing, or both are needed.
Can you test more than one HVAC system at the same property?
Yes. We can test multiple HVAC systems at the same property. Please provide the number of systems when booking so the correct amount of time can be scheduled.
Do you perform repairs if the home fails?
No. Keystone Enclosure Testing LLC is strictly a testing and reporting company. We do not perform repairs, HVAC work, insulation, air sealing, duct sealing, or construction services.
Do you work directly with homeowners?
Yes, but most of our work is with builders, HVAC contractors, developers, and general contractors. Homeowners can also contact us if they need testing documentation for a permit, inspection, or code compliance requirement.
What information do you need to book a test?
We typically need the project address, builder or contractor contact information, type of testing needed, number of HVAC systems if duct leakage testing is required, preferred appointment date, and any permit or jurisdiction-specific requirements.
How quickly can I receive my report?
Reports are typically issued after testing is completed and payment has been processed. Next day scheduling may be available depending on location and availability.
Why choose Keystone Enclosure Testing LLC?
Keystone Enclosure Testing LLC is built for contractors who need testing completed correctly, documented clearly, and turned around quickly. We specialize in residential blower door and duct leakage testing for IECC energy code compliance, with a process designed to help builders, HVAC contractors, and developers close out permits without unnecessary delays.
We are an independent third-party testing company. Our job is to test, document, and certify the results, not create extra work or sell add-on services. If the project passes, you get the paperwork you need. If it does not, you get clear results showing what needs attention so your team can make the corrections and move the project forward.
